Posture-induced nasal obstruction (PINO) is a unique nasal symptom caused by either anatomical or inflammatory disorders of the sino-nasal airway; however, it rarely occurs in patients with soft palate tumors. We report a case of right PINO in the supine or lateral recumbent position in a 62-year-old female patient. A submucosal mass was palpated in the right soft palate. Computed tomography scan showed a submucosal tumor about 2.6 × 2.6 cm over the right soft palate near the nasal side; the sagittal view showed the location of the tumor between the right choana and oropharynx. The nasal obstruction cleared after complete surgical excision. Histopathologically, the lesion was identified as a pleomorphic adenoma. This case report demonstrates an uncommon etiology for PINO; it further shows the importance of palpation of the soft palate on physical examination.
