Nasal pyogenic granuloma (PG) gravidarum was described as pregnancy tumor. PG is a common acquired benign vascular tumor arising in tissue, mostly in the skin and mucosal membrane. Rare cases may occur in the nasal cavity during pregnancy, also termed “pyogenic granuloma gravidarum” or “pregnancy tumor”. We report a 30-year old female, gravida 1 para 0, who had no history of nasal trauma but had symptoms of allergic rhinitis. She suffered from intermittent right epistaxis since 17 weeks of pregnancy. A nasal mass protruding from the right nostril was also noted, and she visited our clinic. We performed endoscopic nasal surgery to remove the tumor under general anesthesia. A large dark red lesion was noted arising from the anterior superior septum. Microscopically, it appeared as a lobular capillary hemangioma with hemorrhagic change. A healthy baby was delivered at 38 weeks. There was no recurrence 3 months after delivery during the follow-up period. We performed a brief review of 24 cases of PG in pregnancy and discussed the management and outcome of nasal pyogenic granuloma gravidarum. (J Taiwan Otolaryngol Head Neck Surg 2024; 59:28-33)
