Conference Overview
Dear Esteemed Members of the Taiwan Society of Otorhinolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery,
Warm greetings to you all.
The Department of Otorhinolaryngology at National Cheng Kung University Hospital in Tainan is greatly honored to host the 2025 Annual Meeting and International Conference of the Taiwan Society of Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery (TSOHNS 2025).
The last two occasions when our hospital had the privilege of organizing this distinguished national meeting were in 2003 and 2013. Both events — from the memorable evening banquet held at National Cheng Kung University’s Banyan Garden to the authentic Tainan delicacies served in its hidden alley eateries — received enthusiastic praise from our members and their families. It has been 12 years since then, and we are deeply grateful to President Lou and the Board of Directors and Supervisors of the Society for entrusting us once again with this year’s autumn academic gathering. This “once-in-a-decade reunion” carries profound meaning for our department. To present a truly remarkable academic feast for all members, we began preparations in earnest at the end of 2024.
This year’s autumn meeting will feature a comprehensive program covering otology, rhinology, laryngology, head and neck oncology, facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, pediatric otolaryngology, sleep medicine, geriatric medicine, medical humanities, residency training, continuing medical education for primary care physicians, medical law, and many other related topics. We are honored to welcome distinguished international speakers from the United States, Europe, Australia, Japan, Korea, and Singapore, while also inviting otolaryngologists worldwide to submit and present their research. Over the course of two days, participants will engage with the latest and most significant medical technologies and academic discussions, ensuring an enriching and unforgettable experience.
This conference also coincides with the 60th anniversary of the Taiwan Society of Otorhinolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, a milestone celebrating six decades of remarkable achievements across all subspecialties in Taiwan. We warmly invite all members to join us in commemorating this grand occasion.
Furthermore, this year marks the 300th anniversary of the founding of Tainan City in 1725. As Taiwan’s first city to embrace a flourishing civilization, Tainan — often referred to as the cultural capital of Taiwan — offers an abundance of historical landmarks and architectural treasures to delight the eyes, as well as a rich variety of traditional delicacies to please the palate. We sincerely hope you will take this opportunity not only to attend the academic sessions but also to experience the unique charm and warm hospitality of Tainan.
November in southern Taiwan is a season of crisp, refreshing autumn skies, making it an ideal time for family travel. We believe that many of our members have not visited Tainan in quite some time, and we warmly welcome you to come south to enjoy both our academic program and our heartfelt hospitality.
We wish you good health and a pleasant journey.
With warm regards,
Prof. Cheng-Yu Lin
