Scientific major activities
His interest in Laser surgery led him to contribute to the development of dedicated devices as the micromanipulator and microinstruments. He initiated the new scanner and the new robotic micromanipulator for laser- assisted incision and dissection. He contributed to the development of the Co2 laser wave-guide.
Together with his colleague Prof Georges Lawson , they have initiated the TORS in Belgium
He presented numerous communications and published papers mainly on laser-assisted microsurgery and microphonosurgery.
He organized the first European course on TORS in Head & Neck surgery in 2012
Later on , he developed the flex robotic system from Medrobotics, He performed the first 2 procedures on Human for vocal fold lesions on June 16, 2016
He is an expert in voice feminization, practicing the Wendler glottoplasty for more than 15 years
He regularly takes part in International courses and conferences on laser microsurgery.

Professor Alkis Psaltis is the current President of the Australian and New Zealand Rhinological Society.
He is the Chairman of Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Adelaide, Australia and a Professor at the University of Adelaide in South Australia.
He has authored over 261 peer-reviewed journal articles and 23 book chapters and has delivered over 600 international and national presentations and is on the Stanford University list of "World's Top 2%" scientists based on his research and publications. In 2024 he was awarded the prestigious Australian Society of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery Medal for distinguished service to ENT surgery and research in Australia.
He co-heads an active research department at the Basil Hetzel Institute researching causes and treatments for sinusitis and skull base tumours, and has supervised over 27 PhD students and 5 masters student to completion.
He sits on the editorial board 5 major international ENT journals.
He currently serves on the Board of Training for the Australian Society of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery .

Dr. Toh Song Tar a Senior Consultant in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology- Head & Neck Surgery, Singhealth Duke-NUS Sleep Centre. He is appointed Clinical Associate Professor for NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and Duke-NUS Medical School.
Dr. Toh graduated from the National University of Singapore and completed his specialty training in Otolaryngology in Singapore. He obtained the Ministry of Health’s Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) scholarship to sub-specialize in Sleep Medicine and Sleep Apnea Surgery in Stanford University, School of Medicine. He obtained his Master of Medicine ( Sleep Medicine) from University of Sydney in 2014.
He is trained as a console-surgeon in performing transoral robotic surgery (TORS) using the da Vinci robot and Medrobotic system for obstructive sleep apnea. He and his team have done the most cases of TORS for sleep apnea and have the most experience in Transoral Robotic Surgery for Obstructive Sleep Apnea in Singapore and Southeast Asia to-date. He is often invited to share his experience in this surgical technique in Asia.
Dr. Toh and his sleep surgery team in SGH Sleep Centre have done the most cases of hypoglossal nerve stimulation implant in Singapore and Asia Pacific region. He and his team have accumulated extensive experience in the surgical management and postoperative treatment care pathway. He is currently the overall country Principal Investigator for 2 clinical trials for new generation neurostimulation implant targeting for hypoglossal nerve and ansa cervicalis.
Dr. Toh has published various scientific articles in notable peer reviewed journals as well as book chapters. He is volume editor of the March 2019 issue of Sleep Medicine Clinics on Screening, Prevention and Treatments of Obstructive Sleep Apnea: Beyond Positive Airway Pressure. He is an invited reviewer for international scientific journals including Sleep Medicine, Sleep and Breathing, Laryngoscope.

Dr. Jin-Young Min is an Associate Professor in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at Kyung Hee University, School of medicine, Seoul, South Korea.
Dr.Min completed residency training in otorhinolaryngology-head and neck surgery at Samsung Medical Center. She is a board certified in otolaryngology (Korean Board of ORL-HNS) and her fellowship training in rhinology was completed at Samsung Medical Center, Sungkyunkwan University, School of Medicine (Seoul, Korea). She also has experience working as a research associate at Northwestern University. Dr.Min received her Ph.D in medicine from Sungkyunkwan University.

Jennifer Shin, M.D. S.M. received her undergraduate degree from Harvard College and her medical degree from Harvard Medical School. She completed her residency at the Harvard Program in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, followed by a fellowship in pediatric otolaryngology and a master's degree in epidemiology from the Harvard School of Public Health. She has served in leadership roles, including Vice Chair for Academic Affairs at Longwood for the cross-hospital Harvard Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, Vice Chair for Faculty Development for the separate Department of Surgery, and Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs for Harvard Medical School. She has also served both colleagues and patients at the national level, including as Chair of the Clinical Practice Guideline for Surgical Management of Chronic Rhinosinusitis, Co-Chair of the Clinical Consensus Statement for Pediatric Chronic Rhinosinusitis, and Vice Chair for the Clinical Practice Guideline for Otitis Media with Effusion. Dr. Shin has a longstanding interest in clinical research and innovative applications to advance data-driven practice. She has also served as lead methodologist for national and international groups, as well as chair of the Outcomes Research and Evidence-Based Medicine Leadership Group and Committee for the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. She is the lead editor of two textbooks, Deputy Editor for Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, and has authored over 190 publications to develop, study, and refine novel approaches related to clinical care. Dr. Alan Cheng received his M.D. degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, pursued residency training in Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at University of Washington. He later sought fellowship training in pediatric otolaryngology in Children's Hospital Boston, Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Cheng is the Sewall Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Stanford University. He is the Chief of the Division of Pediatric Otolaryngology since 2018, consisting of 10 faculty members who provide care for complex diseases of the pediatric ear, nose, and throat regionally and nationally. He also established and is the director of the Stanford clinician-scientist training program.
He is an active physician-scientist himself. His clinical practice focuses on otologic diseases including congenital hearing loss, cochlear implantation, and chronic ear diseases in the pediatric population. In parallel, he runs an NIH-funded research program focusing on inner ear cell regeneration and aminoglycoside ototoxicity.

Julina Ongkasuwan, MD, FAAP, FACS is Professor of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery and Chief of Laryngology at Baylor College of Medicine. With dual fellowship training in Pediatric Otolaryngology and Laryngology, she is among a handful of physicians worldwide with this expertise. At Texas Children’s Hospital, she developed multidisciplinary aerodigestive, pediatric voice, and swallow programs. Her research has been supported by NIH, CDC, PCORI, and institutional grants, producing over 90 peer-reviewed publications and national presentations. Dr. Ongkasuwan serves as an Associate Editor for The Laryngoscope and holds leadership roles in the American Laryngological Association and multiple specialty societies. She has received numerous teaching, clinical, and research awards, including the AAO-HNS Honor Award and multiple Baylor Faculty Excellence Awards. Her clinical and research focus is advancing diagnostic and therapeutic innovations for pediatric laryngeal disorders, bridging adult and pediatric laryngology to improve voice, airway, and swallowing outcomes.

Dr. Damrose is Professor of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery and (by courtesy) of Anesthesiology, Perioperative & Pain Medicine at the Stanford University School of Medicine and an Adjunct Professor of Surgery in the F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine, Uniformed Services of the Health Sciences University. He is the Past Chief of Staff at Stanford Health Care, Founder and Past Chief of the Division of Laryngology, and established the Stanford Transoral Robotic Surgery Program in 2011. He chairs the Department Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement Program. He is a member of the Stanford Cancer Center, a fellow of the Stanford Medicine Center for Improvement, and serves as an advisor to the Stanford Biodesign Program within Biomedical Engineering. Pillsbury, III Distinguished Professor of Otolaryngology and Neurosurgery at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he also serves as Vice Chair of Academic Affairs and Outreach as well as Chief of Rhinology, Allergy, and Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery. Dr. Senior has lectured in nearly 500 national and international otolaryngology courses and authored over 300 articles, chapters, and texts in the field. He has led Otolaryngology humanitarian missions to Vietnam for 25 years, work which led to his receipt of “International Volunteer of the Year” from the American College of Surgeons in 2021.
